As I pulled up to school today, I saw the Action News van waiting in Seylar's lot! I knew they were there to film Dave's class! Pies had written a great press release for us!
Pennridge students and staff have been extremely generous this holiday season by providing donations of food, clothing, and other items to needy families in the district.
One great example is at Seylar Elementary. Rather than celebrate their last day of school before the Christmas break with a class party, fifth graders in Mrs. Kendall Jones's class will collect and box canned goods and other non-perishable items for Pennridge FISH. The students decided to do a community service project in honor of their final year in elementary school and to recognize their TAKES PRIDE themes of kindness, empathy, and service.
The kids were beyond excited when we told that the Action News was here to film them and all the tons of food that they had collected for Pennridge Fish!
The kids did an amazing job and collected 271 pounds of food to donate back to their community!
