Thumbs Down

Happy Halloween!

Hurricane Sandy Clean-up Part 1.

Our home owners Insurance Liberty Mutual sent a clean-up crew out to take care of the damage in the basement.  They took out the carpet and carpet pad.  Removed all the wainscoting due to bowing and free of mold growth.  They also cut a few inches to a foot in some areas of the drywall to remove the drywall and insulation, also due to mold growth.  Our poor poor basement.

Hurricane Sandy: Part2.

For some reason Chris woke up at 4:00 on the night of Hurricane Sandy and to our surprise there was about 3 inches of standing water in our finished basement.  The pictures don't do it justice.  In five minutes or less Chris and I had the entire basement in the dinning room and kitchen.  We managed to save all of the kids toys and most of the furniture.

Along with the damage to our basement Hurricane Sandy took a few shingles off of the roof and ripped some siding off the side of the house.  And since we were without power for 24 hours, we had to clean out our fridge and freezer and lost 4 huge black trash bags full of food.

Hurricane Sandy: Part 1.

Hurricane Sandy started off nice and slow with a lazy day at home.
 We pretended to be kitty's.
 Meow!
The boys enjoyed a day full of Wii.
Sarah enjoyed when there were monkeys on Wii.
Having a little pony ride around the basement.  Take notice to how nice the basement looks!
And of course there was time for playing people.
And comforting the dog, she hates any kind of weather changes.
Sarah telling  dog not to be a chicken!
 Dave created an owl.

Dave's finished owl.

Hurricane Sandy was rather on the mild and and uneventful side till about 8:30 or so.  We got Sarah to bed just in time, about 15 minutes after she fell asleep in her room we lost our power.  And Hurricane Sandy made her presence known!    We all could  not believe that Sarah was sound asleep in her room while we had very strong winds tossing the trees around, pulling shingles off our room, and our garage door was making horrible noises, we were waiting for that to go flying into the air.  But luckily we still have a garage door.  As the winds calmed down a bit we all headed up stairs to bed in the cold dark house.  Everyone had extra blankets and the kids both had glow sticks in their rooms to use as night lights.  Little did we know that we would be waking up to more then just a cold dark house in the early hours of the morning.

Boo!

Trick-or-Treating day number 2, Nan and Pop's house!

Pickel Face

Fall Dog!

Dog loves when she gets to play in the leaves!

Sarah thought that Hallie was super funny jumping around in the leaves!

She also thought it was hilarious to get covered in leaves!

Frankenstorm

This morning during a small break in the rain, we took everything inside to prepare for  Frankenstorm or Hurricane Sandy due to hit us on Monday into Tuesday.  Let's hope we don't loose our other tree in this hurricane, or our power!
