The beach!!

Chris woke up to today and decided that it would be a good day to take Dave to the beach today! So we were off to Sea Isle City! This is where Chris went to the beach as a kid.

First thing first to find some shells to bring home.

Look at this big one!

Going into the ocean for the first time!

This is fun, let's go in further!

He did end up going into the water up to about his chest. Of course we were with him.

"Come on Mommy, your turn for the ocean!"

"I'll hold your hand so you don't fall over in the waves!"

Chris showing Dave that if he digs a hole they can get water from the ocean to make wet sand to build a sandcastle.

"I'll dig the hole!!"

Filling the molds.

"This is how you fill it. Daddy."

A few molds were made, but then Dave thought it would be more fun to smash them!

Back in the ocean to wash off the sand.

"Let's go for another walk on the beach."

"WHOA! The waves got very BIG!"

But that didn't stop Dave from wanting to walk in them.

"Look my name on the beach!"

After, spending a few hours on the beach, we went to Ocean City to visit the boardwalk for a little bit. Dave of course wanted to ride some of the rides. First was the airplanes!

Taking off!

I think he was trying to make the car go faster here.

But the fire trucks were much faster than the cars.

Dave talked Chris into going on the yellow submarine with him.

Getting ready to go up.

And then they tried the spinning bears.

And then Dave wanted to be boat captain.

Notice the name of his boat that he chose.

And the last ride a train ride with me.

What a great day at the beach full of memories to last a lifetime!

Dublin Carnival

Last week we tried several times to get Dave to the Dublin Carnival. But once it rained before we were even able to get in the car and then the next night we arrived at the carnival and it started to rain, thunder and lightening so we were forced to go back home. So we were all excited to see that the carnival was extended into this week! So last night we headed over for some fun.

First thing first, to go fishing!

Dave caught one large shark, which entitled him to one small prize!

Then he thought he would like to ride in a truck!

Dave driving his blue truck.

Then he spotted this tank to take a ride on. The guy that was running the ride was very nice.

Enjoying every second of the ride.

Getting ready for take-off.

Going up!

And he's off!! This was by far his favorite ride. Maybe his next flight will be a real plane.

A treat for Daddy

When we were out shopping the other day, Dave spotted a new fishing lure that he wanted to get for Chris. As you can see it's rather large, but being a good Dad, Chris tried it for a few casts. And then talked Dave into that we might not be in the right type of water to use that lure. So they have it saved in their tackle box for when they are in deeper water areas.

Fishing has really made Dave learn some patience!

And sadly this was the only little fish that they caught all afternoon.

I just thought this one was a good picture and had to include it.

Buyers Choice

Today, we had plans to go out the Steph, but due to the yucky unpredictable weather, we thought it best to find something to do inside. So we thought that a trip to Buyers Choice would be a good idea. Above Dave is checking out eh Christmas tea party scene for Nan.

After, walking down the stone path a few house, we found the best house, were you could try on a bunch of different hats, we really did have a good laugh!

"How about this one?"

"This ones too big, too big, too big!"

"This one is too floppy!"

"Ohh, that's better."

A very serious hat.

"This one tickles."

"Is this one of backwards or something?"

This one is not for me!

"This feels like I have a skunk on my head!!!!!"

"That's enough hats for me for one day."

In awe of Santa and his reindeer.

Checking out the ice skating carolers.

Santa's workshop complete with his Elves!
