The Big Winner!
When we were at the Peace Valley Park Family and Friends day on Sunday, Dave participated in the scavenger hunt, and he was the big winner! He won an owl themed gift basket for answering all of the questions correctly. He also won a kitten puppet, a Napa truck, and a great turtle book in the children's raffle. What a lucky boy!!Monday, September 22, 2008
Peace Valley Park Friends and Family Day
And we found one very tiny baby turtle on the this piece of wood.
Then it was into the Nature Center, after a very successful turtle find, to see what else we could do today. Dave checking out different animal tracks.
Here Dave is putting on a puppet show for us.
And then he remembered that the Nature Center has a giant stuffed snapping turtle, so we had to make sure to say Hello to him.
Then it was time to start the scavenger hunt. Here Dave and Nan are stopping to see what animals they can hear as we go along the path.
Dave spreading some milk pod seeds.
Nan helping Dave jump over the little creek.
Next it was off the field of bubbles. Here Dave is trying to make a really huge bubble!
And then one last visit back to see that giant snapping turtle in the Nature Center. But he had to use binoculars this time!!!!!

Renaissance Fair
Dave in the castle ball pit.
Dave making some music. They had all kinds of items set up to make music with, Dave made sure that he tried every one of them.
Here they are blowing some huge bubbles, this was a big hit!!
And the best part of all Dave got to ride P.J. the pony! I'm not sure if he wants to be a fireman or a cowboy more. Maybe a horse riding fireman?!

One sad sign that summer has come to an end

Dave helping everyone to stretch out the pool cover while Pies, still in the pool, is directing everyone to which way the cover should go on.
And then Dave discovered how much fun it is to run underneath the cover!!!
Helping with the cover again to make sure that it doesn't get in the water. The more hands the better as Pies says.
Dave helping Beegee to tie on the last part of the cover.

Hiking with Daddy
Dave hiking up the big hill.
And on their way up the hill they found a snake! Look closely at the bottom of the tree and you'll see him.
On their way back from the hike they spotted some fish!
And of course, they had to stop and say hello to the ducks.

Solebury Orchards
What a perfect day to pick apples! So that is exactly what we headed out to do today. The weather was nice and sunny not too hot, not too cool, just an excellent day to pick that perfect big juicy apple! We went to Solebury Orchards, they have a variety of fruit to pick, also some goodies in their nice little orchard shop. So we got our bucket and off we went into the apple orchard to find the perfect apple!
And by the looks of it, that apple must be the perfect one!
Just checking it one more time before adding it to the basket.
Look at my apple!! It's going to be so juicy and sweet.
We picked about 45 pounds of apples, of course some went to us, Pies and Beegee, and to Nan to use in the tea room. So if you go to the tea room in the near future you will be eating the apples that Dave picked all by himself!
We also picked some raspberries and blackberries. Which do take quite a bit longer to pick than apples, but Dave still enjoyed looking for the really red raspberries and the very black blackberries.
Dave finding some of the really, really, really red raspberries.
Look at this really black blackberry.
Adding the last few blackberries to the quart.

Lil'kickers day 2
Today, Dave's favorite game at soccer was waking up Fred the mouse. They have a "mouse" named Fred that lives on the other side of the wall. The kids have to run kicking their soccer ball down the field and then kick it against the wall and yell "Wake up Fred!!"Monday, September 15, 2008
Happy 5th Wedding Anniversary to us!
Although, it was a little late, I gave Chris his anniversary present yesterday. We started off at the Phillies afternoon game against the Brewers. Which the Phillies did win!! Go Phils!
After, the game we went to Penn's Landing to check in at the Hyatt. After checking in we enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Moshulu.
For dessert Chris had the ice cream sampler! Looked like such a fun dessert to eat. They even gave us candles and wrote Happy Anniversary in chocolate on our plates.
And for Dessert I had the Chocolate tasting! I was in chocolate heaven.
It was nice to get away and have sometime just us. My Mom stayed with Dave while we were away for the night. By all the stories that Dave is telling me, it sounds like they had a great time, too!!

Everyone kicking their soccer balls down the field.
Dave kicking his ball against the wall to wake up Fred.
The kids listening to the wall the see if Fred is awake and ready to go to his own soccer practice!
