Let's take Nan to the playground!

Dave thought that it would be a good idea to show Nan his favorite playground today!

"Watch this slide, Nan."

"And look you can ride on a horse."

Building a house for George

Dave thought today would be a good day to build a house for George! Below are a couple of pictures of Dave hard at working building the perfect house for George.

Fabulous Fridge Fridays

I thought that it would be a good idea to start a Fabulous Fridge Fridays entry! Since Friday is the day that art work usually comes home from school, and our fridge then looks fabulous!!! I thought it would be nice to share with you the wonderful things that Dave is creating in school, stay tuned every Friday to see what he has been up to in school.

Dave's First Movie Date!

Today, at school the kids watched Mary Poppins! Of course Dave sat next to his girlfriend, Sarah Jane. Thanks Steph, for capturing Dave's "First Date" on camera for us!

Apple Picking

Today, was a great day to go apple picking! At Solebury Orchards.

"Do you think we will be able to fill this whole bucket?"

Finding the perfect apple tree.

"This one looks good!"

"It's starting to fill up."

This is one big apple.

Dave checking to make sure I'm picking good apples.

Adding more to the basket.

(I just liked this photo)

We actually filled up two baskets, one for home and one for the tea room.

Nan, had also asked for some raspberries for the tea room. Above Dave and Chris are trying to find the perfect spot to pick them.

Picking some raspberries.

"Think Nan will like these?"

One last visit to Elmwood...

...well for this season, anyway.

Dave saying "Hi" to the fox.

Dave made sure that Chris saw all the snakes.

The newest member at Elmwood! A little baby girl elk. She is just adorable!

And we were lucky enough to watch the eagles eat their dinner.

9-11 tribute.

I know that this is a few weeks late, but this is what Dave made in school for 9-11. (They were hanging up in their classroom for a few days.)

Build-a-Bear Workshop

For something a little different to do, we tried out Build-a-bear! Above Dave is picking out a wolf to build.

helping to get his wolf stuffed, just right!

Then it was time to give his wolf a bath and fluff up his fur.

And of course, a wolf needs clothing. Dave decided right away on this pair of sneakers, so that he can run very fast.

Dave then picked out a Phillies shirt, but then he spotted the fireman gear and thought that his wolf better be a fireman!

Getting the wolf dressed in his fire gear.

Getting this wolf's awesome fast sneakers ready to put on.

Getting the shoes tied on tight.

Introducing Wags the Fire-wolf!

And of course, a trip to the Willow Grove mall is not complete without a ride on the carousel.

Ok, not complete without two rides!!

They won't let me fight fires but......

They sure will put me to work!
Silverdale had recently added a wall and air-conditioning to the station, so we stopped by to do some painting with the fireman. This boy will do anything that Fireman Mario asks him to do! Dave thinks that Fireman Mario is just the best person on earth, he's a good guy to have as a role model!

Dave's First Report Card!

Dave received his first report card (or his daily teacher-parent communications) today at school. He got all good checks in the following areas:
-was a kind friend
-was a big helper
-participated in class learning
-was active
-kept hands/feet to himself
-was a good listener

They also made handprint flags in memory of the 9-11 victims. (When the flag comes home I'll be sure to post a picture.) They also had fun tracing letters, playing with play dough and writing in their journals.

Dave is doing great in school and loves to go in fact he gets up earlier than his usual time, because he can't wait to go!!

First Day of Pre-K!!

Today, was Dave's first day of Pre-K. He was so excited to go to school. And he did a great job, just a few tears in the morning, but thanks to Steph and Miss Alicia he did just great!

Dave at the teddy bear parade during school today. (Thanks Steph for getting a picture of him!)

Dave enjoying his first lunch at school. He ate the lunch that we had packed plus two big helpings of spaghetti. He even served himself out of the big serving bowl. (Thanks again Steph for getting another picture of Dave.)

And since Dave did such a great job at his first day of school, Nan and I took him to Maggie Moo's for lactose free ice cream! Above you can see Dave picking out he toppings that he wanted.

Enjoying his "I survived the first day of school" treat!

Steph, thank you for making Dave comfortable on his first day of school, you are so wonderful!!!
