Christmas with Nan and Pop!

Thanks Nan and Pop for all our great Christmas gifts!

Christmas Morning!

Santa enjoyed his cookies and left a note for the kids!

And the reindeer enjoyed their carrots inside the house this year!  Sarah told Santa to bring his reindeer into our house to have their carrots!
The kids asked Santa to leave our stockings at the table so they could eat breakfast and open their stockings!

Dave told Sarah that she could have the "First git of Christmas!"

Santa Was HERE!

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas,
When all through our home,
We anxiously awaited a jolly old Gnome

Dave and Sarah slept snuggly,
Tucked in their beds,
as visions of dolls and Skylanders danced
through their heads.

Our stockings were hung
on the mantle, nice and neat.
We even left out a plate of cookies
for Santa to eat.

As mommy and daddy layed down their weary heads,
Mommy turned to daddy and said,
"I heard a great noise,
louder than the ocean.
Look outside and see what
is the commotion!"

I jumped from my bed
and ran to the front door.
What I saw next was a shock for sure!
Eight reindeer
pulling a giant sleigh,
the one with a red nose was leading the way!
A jolly old elf was at the reigns,
and he flew faster then any train.

His cheeks were bright red,
and his beard a snowy white,
I quickly remembered "This is Christmas night!"

He had a large sack
that was red and overflowing,
there were boxes, and dolls, and toy cars all showing.

Faster then a blink his reindeer they came,
with a shout and a jingle he called them each by name.
First there was Dasher... Dancer,Prancer and Vixen
Comet then Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen!

Around in a circle he disappeared with a poof,
Suddenly he then reappeared on our roof!
The jolly old elf parked his sled and got out
I would soon learn what his intentions were about.

He climbed down to our front door
and opened it with a key.
I hid in a closet so he would not see.

The plump old gifter wore a suit of bright red.
"Now what gits belong here?"
he said.
He reached into his sack and pulled out a box.
I hoped for a minute that it was new socks.
He tip-toed around as quiet as can be,
For David a Nerf Gun,
for Sarah a dolly.
With each new gift, he knew we would love them all,
from the very big,
to the very small.

As he finished his delivery,
he stopped and he looked.
He laughed out loud as his fat belly shook.

Content with leaving lots of treats and toys,
The merry old man thought
of the happy girls and boys.

He ate all our cookies,
 then closed up his sack,
with the strength of a giant,
he slung it onto his back.

With a snap of his finger
and a blink of his eye.
It was now time for Santa to
"Goodbye."

He climbed into his sled
and gave out a shout
His team of reindeer began to prance about

A few quick steps, then up in flight
The huge sleigh
and the reindeer flew into the night

He exclaimed once more before
he raced out of sight

"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!!!"

Root Deer Treat!
