Philadelphia Zoo
We thought that it would be nice to take a day trip to Philly. So we started off having lunch at Geno's!
The cheese steaks were great!
Chris enjoying his steak.
And well of course when you are in Philly with Dave it's all about going to the big zoo! It was such a perfect time to go after lunch, the crowds were gone, the day was beautiful and the animals were out!
Dave checking out the birds that are living with some turtles, to make sure that they are being nice to the turtles.
The cheetah's were relaxing in the nice summer sun.
Here the boys are waiting in the line for a rain ride.
I think Chris is wondering if he's going to fit in the train.
And they are off.
A big thumbs up as they are going by.
The ride is over, can they get out....?
Still trying...
and trying again...
Ohh, and they are free...I didn't have to leave them at the zoo train.
The new McNeil Avian Center is now open so we got to enjoy that today. Dave loved seeing the 4-D movie about Otis the Philadelphia Oriole.
Dave in a huge bird nest made of mud.
Checking out the birds.
"Look at this one's funny feathers on his head."
"Cheese"
This fellow got quite the attention of the zoo goers today. He was trying his hardest to reach the leaves that were just out of his cage. The crowd was cheering him on, but his tongue wasn't quite long enough.
Watching the giant otter's play in the water.
Of course the giant turtles and always the biggest hit!!!!!!
Taking a little break.
Looks like this tiger's got the right idea, to relax in the jacuzzi!
But it seems that this one has the weight of the world on his shoulders. He better talk to that tiger!

Berry picking!
Today, we went to Solebury Orchards with Steph to do some berries picking. We first started with some blueberries.
Looking for just the right one.
"Maybe if I crawl under the blueberry bush I'll find one"
"Yep, there's the perfect one up there!"
A perfect big juicy blueberry.
Then it was time to move onto picking raspberries.
"The sign says to walk all the way to the end, Steph."
Making sure that he picks just the reddest of the red raspberries.
Found one!
Here's some good ones for the basket.

Sellersville Carnival
Tonight, we headed to the Sellersville Carnival with Nan and Pop for dinner. We all enjoyed hamburgers and fries and then of course waffles and ice cream!
Dave wanted to play the fishing game to see what he could win.
Getting a little help from Nan to catch a fish.
"Look I caught a shark!"
Choosing just the right puppy to take home.

Pennridge Community Day!
We all had such a great time this year at the Pennridge Community Day! In fact we spent the entire day at the event. First thing was to stop and visit the petting zoo.
"Nan, feel how soft the bunny is!"
And then we had to stop and see Pies at the Foundation table. And of course we didn't win just one goldfish, we came home with 3!! And yes, all three were won officially by Dave!
Then as we were walking down the path, the Silverdale Fire Company was yelling to Dave that their junior firefighter needed to come visit them!! Dave talking to Fireman James.
The best fire truck there is!
Community Day would not be complete without a huge piece of watermelon.
And a tractor ride.
Dave shouting at all the Silverdale Fireman as we ride by.
Dave watching his funnel cake being baked.
Enjoying the funnel cake!!
Trying his luck at the candy wheel, of course he chose the turtle.
Jumping on the trampoline.
And doing a flip!
Getting a tattoo.
"Will I be lucky with the ring toss?"
"Nan, let's try some sand art!"
