What's in a cardboard box...

...lots of car tracks!!  Over the past week of so Dave has been busy building roads and highways for his cars out of a giant cardboard box that we had received a delivery in.  As you can see our living room has been a huge matchbox highway!  

And a highway is not complete without a bridge!

And of course George was along for the whole adventure!

A fun-filled afternoon at Nan's

We went over to visit Nan and Pop today, to get a little warmer since our heater is on it's last leg!  (But luckily we are getting a new one tomorrow!!)  When we got to Nan's she had gotten Dave a make your own pretzel kit so of course we had to do that right away! Below they are preparing the yeast.

Next was to knead the dough.

And then time to shape the pretzels.

The finished pretzel before being baked, I didn't get a picture of after being baked and they didn't last that long anyway.  (Pretzels never last long in our house!)

While the pretzel dough was raising Dave spotted a paint your own tea set that a friend of my mom's had given her for her birthday.  So of course he had to start painting too!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today, was such a wonderful Valentine's day.  We spent the entire day together as a family, I think this is the first Valentine's Day that Chris has had off since we have been together.  It was just a nice quiet day home together.  This is the fruit bouquet that I got from Dave and Chris.  I think that Dave ate all most all of the fruit that wasn't covered in chocolate.

Later in the afternoon Dave and I decorated some Valentine's Day cookies.

And one last Valentine's Day surprise....when Chris got out of the shower he was treated to some hearts hanging around the basement... 

A Valentine's Day Celebration!

Yesterday, Dave's friends Caden and Aaron invited him over for a Valentine's Day party.  Lisa had a fantastic craft planned for the boys to do.  They made these great labels for mini Hershey candies.  They placed thumb prints on some and wrote "thumb buddy loves me" on them and colored on others.  The boys sat still to do a few and then they were off playing cars and running around...I guess boys will be boys.  But the mom's had  a great time finishing up the craft and talking.  

After running around for awhile the boys got out their train tracks and they all sat quietly playing trains.  All 5 of the boys get along so well!

All 5 boys sitting together, a task that took some bribing and cheering, but we did it!!  Thank you Lisa, Caden and Aaron for a wonderful morning.
