Jiffy Pop!

We had an overnight guest tonight, Nan!  They were predicting terrible storms to roll through and Chris  was working nights, so Nan offered to spend the night and ride the storm out with us.  The storms never did happen, but Dave and Nan had a great time together anyways.  They waited till Sarah went to bed and then they made Jiffy Pop in the basement!
Listening for the butter to start to sizzle.

 Starting to shake the popcorn.

 It's starting to get big.
 And bigger!
 And bigger!

Guinea Pigs.

Haleigh and Dave helped me out today, by seeing if the idea that I saw on Pintrest would work for their game at the 2nd grade picnic.  I saw and idea that you can tape a solo cup the end of a noodle and then fil the cup with water and pass the noodle down a team of kids, the team that gets the noodle to the end of their line the fastest and with the most water wins!!  So I wanted to make sure that this was going to work before I disappointed 24 2nd graders.  It was a success!!  Stay tuned for pictures from the 2nd grade picnic coming up at the end of the school year.

Thank you Haleigh and Dave for helping me out!!

Cub Scout Family Picnic!

Today was great fun at the Cub Scout annual family picnic at Peace Valley Park.  The food was great and the boys had a ball playing on the playground, walking down the lake, playing gaga ball, and some races!
 Potato race.
For this race they had teams of 10 kids they had to pass three cups full of water back and forth to see who could have the most water in their bucket after one minute.
And for this race they each had a cup and they had to pour the water down the line to see who had the most water in their bucket at the end of a minute.
 A good old balloon toss!

And then the boys joined in on a volleyball game!

2nd Grade Field Trip to Elmwood Park Zoo!!

Today, I got to chaperone the 2nd grade field trip to Elmwood Park Zoo!  It was the easiest trip ever to chaperone, I only had to look after Dave and Breaden!

After a short bit at the zoo, we met up with Mr. Burger's group and we tagged along with them for a bit.

Thanks boys for being a good group to have to look after at the zoo.
