Fall time at the zoo!

Thanks to facebook we were able to meet up with and old friend from high shcool once more.
We met Jen and her son Tryece at the Elmwood Park Zoo, to check out their halloween decorations.
The boys found these two goats to be funny, they were sleeping standing up.

The boys checking out some of the butterflies that were in the conservatory this summer.
 And the frogs.

And the alligator is back inside for the winter.
 Who lives in the grasslands?

And some fun on the playground!  Thanks for going to the zoo with us Jen and Tryece, we had a fun morning!

Apple Picking

Apple picking is one of favorite fall family activities!  This year we headed to Solbury Orchards again.  They have the best selection of apples to pick and the best cider ice ever!!!
Choosing just the right apple tree to get started with.
This looks like a good one!
 A little help from Daddy.
 Here's another good one.
Taking a good smell, they smelled wonderful!
 Adding them to our bags.

One variety of apples was very high up in the trees so Chris had to pick Dave up for him to be able to reach them.
And Chris had to climb the tree to reach them.
Don't worry I stayed firmly on the ground!!  After an afternoon of picking we headed to the orchard store for the best ever cider ice!!

Fire Prevention Night.

Tonight, was National Fire Prevention night.  So we were off to Souderton Fire Company, can you guess why?  Because that is where Silverdale was this year.  So the first thing that Dave had to do was sit on Silverdale's truck!
We then watched the fireman take apart a car using the jaws of life.  After that we walked around a bit and ate some popcorn.  We also go to see the medi-vac takeoff, but it was too dark and my pictures of that didn't turn out to well.
And the highlight of the night!!
Getting to use a real fireman's hose!

And successfully putting out a "house fire!!"
