A Family Tradition!

Above, is a picture of Dave opening today's door on our Advent Calendar sent to us by Aunt Pat. Aunt Pat sent my Mom an Advent Calender every year when she was little, in fact she still gets one! Aunt Pat then would send me one every year, I always looked forward to getting that big envelop in the mail from England to see what that years Advent Calender would look like. This year is the first year that Dave really understands the Advent Calender and that you only get to open one door a day! This is one of my most favorite Holiday Traditions!!

Schuylkill Valley Model Railroad Club - Annual Model Railroad Open House
Today, we thought that we would go check out the Schuylkill Valley Model Railroad club's display. It was great, a little on the crowded side but Dave loved watching the trains travel to several different cities, above is Philadelphia, in the basement of this Church.
Dave checking out the train display.
As you walked around the display there were a bunch of buttons to push, each which did something different. This particular button made the backhoe dig a ditch. (Picture Below.)

100 Year Anniversary of Perkasie's Tree Lighting
Tonight, Perkasie was celebrating the 100th year of their annual Christmas Tree Lighting! What a great celebration they had planned. The evening started off with a fireworks display in the snow. Chris had to wonderful idea of parking at the car wash on 9th Street, it was perfect to hide under out of the snow and still have a great view of the fireworks.
Fireworks in the snow are even better than in the summer the color of the fireworks reflect off of the snow and the whole sky lights up to be red/green/ purple whatever the color of the firework happens to be.
After the fireworks it was back in the car to find a parking spot to watch Santa light the big Christmas tree.
Above the boys are walking up to the event. We did have to park a few blocks away but no one seemed to mind, it's fun to walk in the snow.
We were lucky enough to see Caleb, and Noah with their Mommy and Daddy. Sarah said it right you felt just like you were in a Norman Rockwell painting!
Santa arriving to light the tree.
Dave is very excited here to see Santa! However, I think that Chris looks a little worried that he might not have been good enough this year to get some nice presents for Santa. Chris disagrees with me, he says that the snow was going into his eyes with the wind, but I think that's just an excuse.

Followed by some more fireworks!!
