What a great day!!

Today stated off as a huge excitement for Dave, it was his first train ride!! He was fantastic on the train and loved every minute of the ride into Philadelphia (and home again). The day was exciting for me too! We met up with one of my very old and dear friends, Belinda! We have been friends for about 20 years, wow times flies. This is one friendship that is a lifelong friendship.

After arriving at Suburban Station and meeting up with Belinda we headed to The Franklin, just a short walk from the station. (Our original plan was to go to the zoo, but with the overcast weather we thought it might be better to stay inside today.)

Above Dave and Nan are making different sized bubbles, the smaller the bubble the harder to make.

Dave the captain of a huge ship!

Making different fog horn sounds with their bottoms, HAHA!

This was one of Dave's favorite activities at The Framklin. You would put these little foam balls in the tube and place the vacuum hose on the the tube and the balls would jump out the other side.

Making a turtle spit water.

Dave and Belinda trying to figure out how to get the ball from one to the other, this took them quite a long time.

Then we moved into the space section of The Franklin. I'm not sure what Mom and Belinda are looking at, but it seems to have their attention, but not Dave's.

This was by far Dave's favorite part, he loved watching the marbles race to the center.

Trying to fly in the wind tunnel!!

"This is pretty hard, but fun!"

I think he got it...well kind of.

"Here Nan you try."

"HAHAHAHA!!!!!"

Taking an x-ray.

And of course the giant heart!!

And before heading to dinner at TGI Fridays, Dave tried his hands or feet, I guess you would say, at surfing.

Thank you so much Belinda for going to The Franklin with us, we had a great time, and it was wonderful to see you again. We will plan another trip down to Philly to see you again soon!!

Happy Birthday, Steph!

Happy Birthday, Steph!!

Steph got to use our special birthday teacup that sings "Happy Birthday" every time you pick it up to drink. So Dave had to make sure the he heard it!

Dave checking out his special food. Nan made some changes to the Jenny Wren, our kids meal, to suite Dave since most things on the regular meal have milk in them.

A frog.

A turtle! And some of Dave's special scones, a watermelon cat and some fresh strawberries!

This is what all of the adults got plus we started with soup and salads, our full tea.

Steph, we hope that you had a great birthday!! Thank you for inviting us to celebrate your day with you and your family, we had a great time!!

National Night Out

Tonight was National Night Out, so we went to Franconia's celebration. They always have a great event! Above Dave was checking out the fireman baseball cards that he got after sitting on some of the trucks. Then it was off to check out some of the other things.

A cute little bunny.

And then picking a duck to win some candy.

Some fun marble painting with a little help from Nan to learn how to do it.

I think he got the hang of it!

Watching the MediVac land!

Coming in for a landing.

After it landed we were able to go over and take a look inside.

Nan and Dave checking out the bomb squads robot.

Trying on some SWAT gear!

This SWAT gear is very heavy!!!

A walk in the woods with Nan

Dave talked Nan into going for a walk in their woods tonight before dinner. So they put their boots on.

And Dave thought that might need to take a compass with them so they don't get lost.

And what did they come across first? A turtle!!

And then it was time to stop and check under the bridge for the troll.

Dave spotted a deer track.

And then they found a turkey egg.

Dave thought he should stop and pet the cat the guards the bridge.

And lastly they found some wild raspberries, yum!!

Pool Party!!

Today, Cara and Fred invite us to their pool party! We had such a great time. Above, Cara was nice enough to get in the cold pool with Dave.

And we had a chance to spend some time with Tyler and Kaylee again. Thanks Cara for taking Dave in the pool he loved it.

WANTED: Tootsie for theft of cucumber!

As we were eating dinner on the deck Tootsie walked by and very quickly stole Dave's cucumber off his plate.

Cara always has fun treats to eat!

And then it was off to the trampoline with the other kids.

Dave loved jumping! At one point he was the only boy on the trampoline with 5 other girls. I think he was enjoying being the only boy!

And then it was time for some wiffle ball. Above Fred is showing Dave how to pitch.

Chris taking his shot at hitting.

Chris and Dave fielding the balls.

Dave was up to bat, with a little help from Chris.

Thank you to Cara, Fred, and the Rosenberger Family for a great afternoon. We had such a wonderful time, it was nice to see everyone again.
