The challenge of summer dinners!

Dave wanted to help peel the corm for dinner last night. So I handed him an ear and he looked at if for a few minutes and asked, "How do you get this off?"

"I'm going to watch you do one first."

"Oh, like this!"

"It's OK, Mommy, if you don't get all the silk in the bag, the birds will use it for a nest!"

"Looks great to eat!"

Member's Only Picnic

Tonight was the member's only picnic at the zoo. So we braved the rain and headed t0 the zoo. Above Dave is trying to get some bugs in the frogs mouths to win a prize.

Then he did some fishing for another prize.

Chose a duck for a prize.

The huge elk was out and about in the rain, he's someone that we usually don't see when we are at the zoo, so it was a treat to see him.

It really was weather for the ducks, but we did get a break in the rain while we were there to be able to walk around and see all the animals.

Carousel fun!

Thank you to Sarah and her MOPS group for inviting us to join them at the Perkasie Carousel for a few rides!

Getting ready to start.
Getting ready to go around, again.
Looks like they are having a good time! I think Dave rode a total of about 5 times!!

The first tomato of the season!

Mee-mee and Pops called the other day that they were saving the first tomato for Dave to pick. So over we went and Dave picked the first tomato or two for the summer. They saved this for for him because he has been asking them for a long time when he would be able to pick tomatoes again. He loves to pick the cherry tomatoes and eat them right off the vine!

The zoo with my best buddy!

What a better way to spend a beautiful day but at the zoo with your good friends! Above the boys are checking out the turtles and the eagles.

Then off to see the prong horn sheep and their babies.

And the newest members of the zoo, some new monkeys.

Dave showing Noah the ferrets.

Caleb and Noah looking at the foxes.

Dave made sure that the boys met his favorite turtle.

Caleb was the brave one in the group to feed the sheep!

Looks like three very happy boys to me!!! Caleb, Noah, and Sarah thank you for spending the day with us at the zoo we had a great time. And can't wait to see you again.

A night on the farm.

Last night we went to visit Marge with Nan. And while we were there we went across the street to visit Walley's farm. We had gone to see the pigs, but they were a little bit too big for Dave's liking, I think he thought that they were going to be baby piglets. But he was very satisfied seeing the kittens that were only three days old!

And some of the baby cows!

Thank you Marge and Walley for letting us visit your farm.
