A day for the Dog!

We thought that since today was a nice day...maybe the Dog should get a bath.  So off we went to the pet store.  Below you can tell she's not looking forward to her bath.

Dave thought that since she was a good Dog she deserved a  new toy!

Then it was off to the park to take Dog for a walk, so that she would dry off really well.  But first Dave wanted to help brush her.

And then it was off to walk!

Dave stopped to watch someone put their boat in the water.

And then it was off to finish his bike ride!!

Wordless Wednesday

What to do on a rainy night?

Go to Nan and Pop's house they always have something to do.  And tonight they had clay to play with!

Dave had a great morning hunting for the eggs that the Easter bunny hid!  

Here Dave is opening one of the presents that wouldn't fit in his basket.  It's a Guess What I am  game!

Somehow the bunny knew that Dave loves turtles!!

Beegee and Pies stopped over with some Easter goodies for Dave.

And Nan stopped over with some Easter goodies too.  His favorite was the silly putty.

Egg-U-Cational Hunt

Today, despite the rain we went to Elmwood Park Zoo for their Egg-U-Cational hunt!  We had a great time, as you can see above Dave chose three eggs and opened each one.  Each egg contained a station that you had to visit to get your prize and a few stickers.  So off we went to the first station, which was about eggs.  We learned about ostrich and emu eggs.  The next station you had to match the baby animal name with the picture of the baby animal.  Dave did great at this, he got every animal right!!!!

Dave got to choose a duck for getting them all right.

At the third and final station, we learned about different animal furs and porcupine quills.  They were so impressed that Dave knew just about all the questions that they asked him at every station that they let him choose two prizes from he final station, a pop-up dino book and a dino activity book!

Here Dave was petting  a fox tail and learning that fox use their tales to keep their nose warm during the winter.  

Dave also able to make some rabbit tracks and duck tracks to bring home!

We are home safe and sound and full of tea and cream cakes (if that is possible)!  We had a great time, I know that this blog is going to be rather lengthy but everyone has been asking to see pictures and hear about what we did so here it goes....

 We left March 23rd.  Our flight out was just a little bumpy not bad and only took 6 hours the pilot made great time!  We arrived on March 24th, we did a little light shopping at Mark's and Spencer's to get some dinner and of course some fresh cream cakes!  

On March 25th, we headed into Liverpool.  We had a great lunch at John Lewis's.  And of course we did some shopping!  Below is a picture of the Liver Birds.  

Thursday, March 26th, we left for New Quay, Wales to visit for the weekend with Jean and Eric.  It takes the most part of the day and about four trains to get from Manchester to New Quay, so the day was spent traveling.    Below are a few pictures of Wales.

And we were completely surrounded by this guys!  The little lambs kept us laughing all weekend.  They would just be standing in the field and next thing you know they would jump all four hooves of the ground and leap around together, very cute.

If you ask me it was way to cold to be on the beach, but I guess that the cold weather doesn't stop the Brits from a picnic on the beach, even if they have to wear winter coats, hats, and gloves!

March 30th, we were back on the trains to travel back to Aunt Pat's for the rest of time in England.  

On Tues March 31st, we heading into Southport on of my favorite spots to go in England.  We started off the morning by having scones and tea at the Nostalgia Tea Room.  Then did some shopping, actually some great china shopping!  After shopping we enjoyed a lovely tea at the Westminster Tea Room.

Both mom and I had full tea.  The bottom layer consisted of ham and cheddar cheese sandwiches along with a salad.

Next was dessert a carmel apple pie and a fresh cream and jam puff.

And of course a raisin scone with jam and clotted cream!

April 1st, Aunt Pat's friends Hannah and Kathleen had us over lunch and then they were nice enough to take me to Toys R Us to try to find Fireman Sam toys for Dave.  

April 2nd, Mom and I headed into Liverpool again for the day and gave Aunt Pat a little break from us.  We had tea at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel, rather disappointing, that's why there are not pictures of that one.  And shopped around Liverpool One.

This is a lambanna, they were used to raise money during last year's celebration for being the city of culture.  (They are like the mules that are around Doylestown.)

Friday April 3rd, we headed back into Liverpool in the morning to go on the Magical Mystery Tour!  

Our Magical Mystery Tour bus, which took us all over Liverpool to see the homes, schools, and other great marks of the Beatles.

After our tour we had tea at the Beatles Hard Days Night Hotel.

Tea started with the desserts on the bottom tray.

Scones with black currant jam and clotted cream in the middle.

And a ham and horseradish sandwich and a cheddar cheese and branston pickle sandwich.

Saturday April 4th, we went to the Ormskirk Market.  We had great fish and chips for lunch.

Sunday April 5h, we thought that we would go back into Southport to do some more shopping and to go to a penny arcade.  A penny arcade is kind of like an english Chuck E Cheese.

Monday April 6th we went to Albert Dock, I think my most favorite place to go in England.

While in Albert Dock we went to the Merseyside Maritime Museum.

This is a picture of one of the exhibits about smuggling.  These are all weapons that people have tried to smuggle into the country.  They also had exhibits showing drugs and other illegal things that people have tried to smuggle.  Can you imagine trying to fit a wolf head into your luggage and think that you would get away with it?

This in one of my favorite parts of the museum.  It is created to make you feel like you are immigrating to America.  As you enter the boat you feel it begin to move.  Below mom and Aunt Pat are just stepping into the boat.

The museum also had a section on the Titanic that the toured through.  It was very interesting to see some of the artifacts that they have found.  

And on April 7th we headed back to the airport to go home.  Thank you Aunt Pat for a great time!!
