Fresh Idea Friday - Favorite Kitchen Tools

My friend Lisa started something fun on her blog, Out of the Blue. She does an entry twice a month called Fresh Idea Fridays. This week she chose a topic of favorite kitchen tools, she asked that you choose three kitchen tools that you couldn't live without. So I thought that I would share my favorite tools.
First, are my good set of knives. I don't know what I would do without a really nice set of good sharp knives! They can cut through anything.
Second is my bench scraper. I use this for all kinds of things from taking cookies or french fries off a hot cookie sheet to cutting bar cookies. It has very many uses, some I'm sure I haven't even discovered yet.

And last but not least, my kettle. Not just because I can't survive without tea!! I also use this to boil water very quickly and then I'm able to pour the boiling water into a pot and make noodles in no time at all.

Be sure the check out Lisa's blog for more ideas or to share your own!

Bakers on Broad Open House

Tonight, we went to Bakers on Broad open house. Dave enjoyed the tour of the kitchen where his favorite bread is made! Above, Dave and Nan are checking out all the different kinds of flours they that use to make their wide variety of breads and pastries. We also had many samplings of their wonderful bread. If you have never stopped by their shop in Souderton it comes highly recommend by us.

Trick-or-Treat!

Happy Halloween!! We took Dave around to everyone's house last night, Chris was off work. Also, our development was having a scare-free Halloween with the Silverdale Fire Company so I bet you can guess where we were tonight!!

Dave arriving at his first stop! Beegee and Pies house.

Checking out his Halloween treats!!

Then off to our next stop Nan and Pop's house. "Look Nan it's me, David, not a real fireman."

Checking out his Halloween treats from Nan and Pop.

Then onto Mee-mee and Pops's house.

More Halloween treats!

And our last stop for the night, Cara and Fred's house. Our little fireman was getting pretty tired at this point.

Even more Halloween treats!!

Only Cara could find silly glasses.

SNOW?!

This is what our backyard looked like when we woke up this morning. Even Dave could not believe that it was snowing! He thought that it was too early to see snow, cause snow should come when Santa comes and Santa doesn't come till after Halloween and Thanksgiving. Although it is too early for snow, Dave is hoping that it snows enough to be able to throw snow balls later this afternoon!

Pumpkin painting time!!

Tonight, Dave wanted to paint his pumpkins for Halloween. But we were not allowed to paint to them at our house we had to paint them at Nan's house "cause she has good paints at her house." Below Nan and Dave are starting to paint Dave's pumpkin.
Dave doing some more painting.Concentrating very hard to make sure the pumpkin is perfectly scary for Halloween! He made sure that he got every inch of the pumpkin covered in paint.Looks like they had to go back and fill in a few spots that didn't have paint. And if you have been reading our blog you know that when we went to pick pumpkins Dave picked a gourd that he thought looked just like a goose. So here Dave is painting the wings for his goose. He thought it would be best if the goose had yellow and red wings. And here's the finished goose gourd. He does look like a goose don't you think?!He's a fantastic bird if you ask me!
