Last night Nan, Jenn and I took Dave to the Mad Science Halloween Event, which is part of Perkasie's Family Fridays. Perkasie is holding a family event once a month on a Friday during the fall and winter. Below Dave is picking the snack that he wants to eat while watching the scientist.
The mad scientist did a little bit of everything, here he is trying to fit an egg into a beaker. He peeled a hard boiled egg and put a piece of burning paper in the beaker and the egg on top and in goes the egg as the fire is trying to suck more air in. The kids really enjoyed it!
Here he is melting a styrofoam witch with acetone. He then did some experiments with dry smoke, but the pictures didn't turn out the well of those, you couldn't really see the smoke. All in all Dave had a great night learning some facts about science.
Tonight, Dave, Pies and I went to the Perkasie Fire Department's open house for National Fire Prevention Week. They had so many things happening for the kids. Dave had a great time, but he did however say that he wished Silverdale's Fireman Mario was at the event! Of course, one of the first things that Dave had to do was sit in a firetruck!
Here Dave is deciding that it is not good idea to wear a helmet if you are going to look at the tall ladders! It kept falling off his head, so we ended up carrying it for most of the night.
Next Dave wanted to check out what this fireman had...He had a heat sensor. It shows you were heat is located. He had Dave touch the wall and then come back to the sensor and you could see his hand print in the sensor. This was really cool to Dave!!! He thinks that he should have one of these at home, ha ha.
Next Dave wanted to use the pulleys on the big ladder truck to lift some heavy hoses hooked to the other end. He pulled as hard as he could and he got them off the ground a little bit. 
And while we were there who did we bump into? Dave's best friend Caleb. Here the boys are deciding what they would like to do next. 
They decided to check out the ambulance. Dave asked the EMT if Bob was with tonight, but he wasn't working till later tonight. 
Then it was off to the army trucks, here Dave is waiting for Caleb to get in to be the co-pilot seat.
Then it was off to the best part of the night!!! They got to be real firemen and squirt the hose to put out a "house fire"!!!! Dave was in heaven!

Also, this week Tilly Mint's was featured in 
"Maybe I'll start here dad" he said after he found this big digger. Dave was amazed that Chuck E. Cheese was able to fit a digger in the play room. Dave watched this little boy intently for about three seconds before he found the next amazing thing.
"Look daddy, I'm a fireman!" he said after he found this game. The game simulated being a real fireman which, if you have been reading this blog for any period of time, you should know Dave adores firemen. We played this game several times that day. Dave really enjoyed putting out the fires and saving the people.
"What's this thing daddy?" Dave did not quite understand the concept of playing some games to win tickets that he could then redeem for prizes. Once I showed him the prizes he could win with his tickets Dave was all about playing for tickets. Dave won a total of 140 tickets that day and ended up coming home with the prize he couldn't live without, an authentic Buzz Lightyear ray gun that makes all sorts of cool sounds.
Here is Dave driving a monster truck. He thought it looked like alot of fun until he started to drive it. The truck moved up and down and tipped forward and backward. Dave did not like the way it moved and decided that from this day forward he would not pursue a career as a monster truck driver and that he liked the idea of being a fireman even more. (Much to the delight of his parents)
Dave finished up the day taking a ride on a simulated roller coaster. The seat actually moved to the actions on the screen which looked like alot of fun. When the ride was over Dave gave me this big smile and told me that he had fun there. I told Dave that we could all come back again sometime in the future which made him even more happy.
